ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
Place of the volunteering is a public elementary school located in a green, beautiful district of Warsaw – Sadyba. There are currently about 370 children age 6-15 years old. Fully equipped building and a green outdoor area with various play equipment, provides children with a wonderful experience and opportunity to learn.
The volunteer’s activities will be divided into two groups:
1. activities supporting teachers and the school staff, e.g.
– during art, music, IT or language lessons with children and youth
– during physical activities and trips,
– playing with children during after school activities,
– supporting the staff in organization of a special events.
Acquired and developed competences:
– ability to communicate and interact effectively in an international environment;
– assertiveness and interpersonal communication skills;
– team work, openness, flexibility;
– responsibility for the activities carried out;
– performing tasks from A to Z;
– participation in the life of the local community;
2.implementation of own projects, e.g.
– teaching children your mother tongue and / or English;
– organization of events for children promoting the culture and traditions of your country;
– other related to the specific interests or skills of the volunteer.
Acquired and developed competences:
– the ability to transfer knowledge,
– interpersonal communication, the ability to express yourself in the forum,
– project management skills,
– expressing thoughts in an understandable way,
– the ability to control the group and deal with stressful situations,
– stimulating creativity, using art and entertainment in integrating the local community,
– the ability to turn ideas into actions,
– developing own passions, knowledge and skills,
– the ability to convince others to your ideas and reasons,
– the ability to find partners and co-implementers for the project.
The above competences will be acquired and developed through non-formal learning.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT
We provide single or double rooms in a 1-2 room apartment close to school. The apartment is fully equipped.
Volnteers are provided with money for food and local transport. Volunteers receive also a pocket money.
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
Volunteers take part in internal trainings organized by foundation Innovation Institute and also attend two seminars organized by National Agency.
PARTICIPANT PROFILE
We are looking for creative, responsible, motivated and open-minded person (age 18-30) that likes to work with children. Any interesting hobbies or talents (Music, sports, art etc.) are welcome. At this moment we have 1 place available.
